Photographer, Writer & Author
Photography … to me, it’s about finding something special, in everyday ordinary places … that captures the moment
Hello, my interest in photography started at school as I learned to develop and print black & white films in the school ‘home-made’ darkroom, inspired by a teacher. It was on leaving school, I purchased my first ‘real camera’ a basic 35mm range-finder, as photography continued to interest me.
Soon after leaving the Army, I fully returned to my photography working hard and long hours to establish myself as a freelance photographer and with time acquiring a range of clients, including national newspapers, magazines, public relations and press agencies. I soon established a reputation for reliability, being able to contribute to a team, plus working to tight deadlines with the minimum of guidance and direction, which I put down to my military ethos and training.
Photography was a life choice … not a career choice …
Over three decades later, my photography and writing have an ever-growing client list as I travel extensively supporting them with a fully digital operation that interacts with the Internet for client proofing and the high-speed delivery of image files.
Having grown up on a farm I have always maintained my love of the outdoors, the British countryside, plus its heritage and traditions. Today, I have a growing number of commissions in a wide range of activities and industries, along with written articles and books being published.
Living in Lincolnshire, I was made an OBE in 2004, and live with my wife, Karen, who shares my interests of the countryside, good food, travel and real ale; plus our team of English Springer Spaniels which we both enjoy training.
