About Matt Limb
Matt Limb’s interest in photography started whilst at school as he began to develop and print black & white films in the school ‘home-made’ dark room. On leaving school he purchased his first ‘real camera’ a basic range-finder 35mm film camera as photography remained a hobby.
Following service in the Army, Matt returned to photography and set about establishing himself as a freelance photographer working with a range of clients, including national newspapers, magazines, public relation and press agencies. During this time, he quickly established a reputation as a reliable and responsive photographer able to contribute to any team, working to tight deadlines and with the minimum of guidance and direction.
At the same time, he established Matt Limb Battlefield Tours (www.mlbft.co.uk) following his lifelong passion and interest in British Military history – to be more exact his lifelong passion got seriously out of hand and became another business!
Today Matt’s photography and writing has a growing client list as he travels the length of the country supporting them. He now a fully digital operation, interactive with the Internet for client proofing and high-speed delivery of digital images.
Having grown up on a farm Matt has always maintained his great love of the outdoors and the English countryside and its heritage and now has a growing number of commissions in a wide range of rural activities, industries and pastimes along with written articles being published.
Made an OBE in 2004, Matt lives with his wife, Karen, who shares his interests of the countryside, good food, travel and real ale; plus his English Springer Spaniels which they both enjoy training, Matt has again started fly-fishing – which he still does badly but is slowly improving and I do mean slowly!
